Biography

Mathias Mpuuga Nsamba is a Ugandan politician, lawyer, educationist, businessman, and advocate for good governance and human rights.

Born on October 12, 1975, in present-day Lwengo District, Central Uganda, Mpuuga was raised with strong values of hard work and education by his parents, the late Vincent Nsamba and Gertrude Nsamba.

To foster a cohesive national identity that transcends ethnic, cultural, and economic divisions so as to promote a unified Uganda where every citizen is engaged in and benefits from the collective endeavor of nation-building.

Deeply committed to establishing a democracy that transcends the superficial forms of representation inherited from colonial and authoritarian legacies, and instead fosters genuine political empowerment for all Ugandans

Freedom and rights

To vigorously defend and expand the freedoms and rights of all individuals residing in Uganda within the broad framework that understands that freedom and rights in relation to the collective responsibility

Political and Social transformation

To radically transform the political and social structures and practices of Uganda characterized by political instability and lack of peaceful transfer of power

To actively promote and establish true equality across all dimensions of Ugandan society, ensuring that no individual or group faces discrimination based on ethnicity, gender, religion, physical abilities, economic status, or any other characteristic.

Career

Mpuuga began his career as a teacher at Uganda Martyrs High School, Rubaga, where he taught Geography and Economics from 1998 to 2003. He also served as Director of Masaka Town College from 2000 to 2002 and co-founded Liberal Consult Ltd, an evaluation and monitoring firm, in 2001. From 2003 to 2011, Mpuuga was the Principal and Managing Director of Datamine Technical Business School in Kampala.
